I was making a run to the bank but ended up at a bar ordering breakfast and drinking a mimosa. I am at the bar drinking, eating, chatting with the bartender, and minding my business. I hear, “Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?” I respond and go back to minding my business. Well, he starts chatting, and he is funny, and we are laughing. He has one child, is divorced, and I am seven years his senior. He tells the bartender to add my stuff to his tab and orders me another drink. “Your ass better drink all that mimosa! Don’t be wasting my money!” 😂😂😂😂 We can’t stop laughing! He looked at me and said, “Are you ready?” We proceed to get up from the bar; he walks me to my car, makes plans for our next outing, and I leave. I walked in alone and left out with someone’s son. 😉 We live in the same neighborhood, so it wouldn’t be strange if I ran into him again.
The following Saturday, I go back to the exact location, but I am meeting family there. As I am turning into the parking lot, he is leaving. He calls, “is that you?” and I reply. The next thing I know, he walks through the door and joins me at the bar. I informed him that I was meeting my family and was waiting for a table. He received a phone call, and he chatted briefly, and I told him he was a great friend, and he responded and told me that he was not trying to be my friend. OH! My table is ready, so I leave the bar and sit at the table. My family arrives, and we chat, and I receive a text, “That looks like a double date to me!” I laugh, and he turns around from the bar, and I introduce him to my people. He finishes his breakfast and leaves the bar.

I received a text a couple of days later, “Happy Hour?”! I was having a stressful day, so this was right on time. He is late but apologetic. He arrives, and we laugh and talk, then head to the next spot. We laughed even more; he shared details about his life and showed pictures. I accidentally left my phone in the car, but I got it when I returned to my ride. He is excellent company! I cannot go on a date with someone with no personality or sense of humor. I would probably end the date and not torture myself; However, he is a good time.
A few days later, he texts, “Dinner?” The perfect text after a long day of meetings. He came to pick me up, and we headed to dinner, but many places were closed because it was a weeknight. We find a spot to eat, talk and learn more about each other. He dropped me off and told me to call him when I was back in town.
He aligns with one of my dating goals for 2023, which is to date younger men. So far, so good!
Until next time!
