Heyyyyy, good people!

It has been a while, and so much has happened. I hope you are all in excellent health while loving yourself, loving others, setting boundaries, and laughing. If it is not an excellent time for you, remember it gets better, and keep a positive mindset during the tough times because that helps! It has been a roller coaster on my end. Work has been hectic; I’ve visited Birmingham, Arkansas, Houston, Los Angeles, and South Carolina several times. My backpack was full from going to the beach last weekend, but I need to empty it and repack it for my flight Friday. I moved my flight to Saturday, so I can spend time with my family and not work while I am there.

My Granny passed away last week, and I am sad. My Granny was an 87-year-old diva who had Alzheimer’s and thought she was in her 40s. I spent much time with her over the last few years; she was hilarious. There is nothing to do in Arkansas, and I love heels, so I would have on my heels in the house while I work, and it would crack her up; she would laugh and say, “Do you have on heels?” and giggle hahaha She loves my fur baby and calls him “baby!” LOL, She would be talking shit about me to me, and we would both crack up. One weekend I went to Birmingham to meet up with South Carolina and to meet one of his best friends and his girlfriend, so I left my fur baby with my Mom. On Monday afternoon, my Granny looked at me and asked, “Where is that girl that was gone for the weekend and left her dog with me?” I laughed so hard because I did not leave my fur baby with her, and she said it like she was about to start talking shit about me. hahahaha, I said, “Granny, that was me!” She said, “What?” we both laughed for a long time. Hahaha, I am going to miss her! I dressed up all weekend and bar-hopped to celebrate her life; she would not want me to be sad. I was going to go salsa dancing tonight, but I canceled and will go next week. I need a damn hug and a drink.

Him! After my hungover date the day after my birthday party, “he” returned to town to take me to the movies, and we had a great time. He also ran a few errands with me because I was going out of town the next day, and he went back to South Carolina after the movies. He has driven seven hours a few times to hang out with me. While in Arkansas, I received a card, flowers, and snacks several times. Then, we decided to meet up in Birmingham to hang out with one of his best friends and his girlfriend, and it was an equal amount of travel time for both of us. I get very nervous when it’s time to meet new people, and we are still getting to know each other, so my heart is pounding like a boulder in my chest. Oh, and to top it all off, I didn’t pack any cute clothes because I was in the damn country. LOL. If I needed something cute to wear, I could have gone to Target to get something last minute, but I was able to make due for one day and night.

We arrived simultaneously, and he looked at me like it had been a million years since we had seen each other. I am nervous, hoping I don’t fall or walk into a plant. Hahaha, We headed out to meet his friends at a day party, and my hands were sweating. LOL, His friends were excellent, and it was like we all had known each other forever. We laughed, talked, drank, and listened to music. Next, we went to the movies and watched a crazy movie about a Bear on drugs. It was a great day! Before I returned to Arkansas, he took me grocery shopping for things I wanted because they don’t have Publix in Arkansas. After I returned to Atlanta, I went to South Carolina and hung out for four days with him and was given a tour around his side of town and did a little shopping. I have met some of his other friends and their girlfriends on a conference call, and everyone seems lovely. A few weeks ago, we went to the beach with another best friend and his girlfriend, and it was a fantastic weekend full of laughs, miniature golf, libations, and a great view of the water.

Summer is here, and the short shorts and summer dresses are popping! Make sure you are wearing what looks and feels fantastic! In the gym, the men are showing up working on their backs, arms, and abs hahaha A lot of them skip legs, hahaha, but they look great!! The women are in there lifting weights and on the stair master. The summer anthem is ACT BAD by Diddy, City Girls & Fabulous! We will have fun, hang out with old and new friends, make time for family, level up our careers, exercise, meditate, and have a great love life. Life is a balancing act of all things.

I went home to Los Angeles on the 4th of July and had a great time with my family. We had a cookout at my cousin’s house, played games, ate, and drank. I was missing home, and it was what I needed. I kept losing games, so I had to take a few shots in addition to a couple of drinks I already had. I have no idea how the night ended because I slept on the sofa between the pillows. I heard someone call my name; I raised my head and went back to sleep. hahahahaha I hired a dog sitter for my fur baby while I was away, and I was nervous about someone staying in my home while I was away, but it worked out great. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.
