Hey, good people!

I hope that you all are doing well! Maneuvering life as it comes, taking time to do what feels good. I hope you are surrounded by people who love you and want what is best for you!

It is my birthday month, and I like to celebrate the month of February. I started the month going to see Hamilton, and I participated in a 5k. One of the many highlights this month is my beautiful chandelier. 💕 I want to sit on my sofa and stare at it all night.

Him: What are you doing for your birthday?
Me: Going to the Aquarium.
Him: Can I join you?
Me: Sure
The next day, he texts and asks what time works for me. He purchased the tickets and told me he would pick me up. I’m excited.

He is younger, 6’1″, with beautiful chocolate moisturized skin, a nice full beard, intelligent, funny, thoughtful, and affectionate. He arrives to pick me up, and we have the same sneakers on but a different color. We head to the Aquarium. It was such a wonderful time, with lots of laughs. It wouldn’t have been me if I hadn’t almost fallen going down the stairs 😂 I am short; the step was huge, so I almost busted my butt 😂 We stayed at the Aquarium until closing. He shared that he had never been to the following location, but we had reservations. We arrived, he gave the hostess his name, and we were seated. Our waitress was excellent and ensured we had everything we needed. He took me home, and my gift was a pair of sneakers. Now, I have more sneakers than ever, and I love to rock them with dresses.

I had a dinner date with my girls! They entered the restaurant with a plant, flowers, and a gift! I am learning to accept gifts and let people do things for me, but it was tough at one point. We had a delicious dinner! We caught up over dinner and drinks. I shared about my birthday date, and they listened intently, hahaha.

I had a party, and my cousin and friend flew in from Los Angeles to celebrate with me, and we had a great time. Since last year’s party, I’ve made new friends, and I was excited about them joining me this year. The day of the party arrives, but I don’t have shit to wear. I need to plan my attire better because I am currently failing. I got my make-up done and went to the mall. The party did not start well because the seating differed from where I requested, and the planner took it upon herself to select my seating. After a few drinks and a shot, I felt better. I am grateful to everyone who came to celebrate with me and brought me a card. I love cards, so I was overwhelmed with emotions.

Then, I received a text: “I am here. Where are you?” My heart drops to my ankles! I briefly dated a workaholic, but I went on about my business because he always works! He reached out a few weeks ago and asked what I was doing for my birthday, and I shared about the party. He requested an invite. I sent it not thinking he would show up, but he did. I direct him to the area, and we embrace for a few minutes. He grabs a seat, and we chat. My phone is going wild with my friends and family texts telling me he is “FOINEEE” and several tongue emojis. 👅 🥰 😂 He is easy on the eyes, has a nice beard, is tall, and has a caramel complexion. We caught up, and he told me he was there to show me he was serious about me and wanted me to make time for him. He promised to make more time for me, but his career is demanding, so time will tell.
Men show you how they feel about you! A man’s actions will show you where you stand in his life. Generally, men are hunters who want to pursue you, but if you need clarity on where you stand with someone, you don’t hold a permanent spot in their lives. It was great to see him, but I need more time before deciding to take it further.

The next day, I took my family to the airport and ate at a restaurant. I sat at the bar and cried while reading my cards, overwhelmed with love. The cards were sweet and filled with kind words. I am overflowing with gratitude! I take nothing for granted, and when people create space in their lives for you, it is not to be taken lightly.
