I enjoy weekday outings! One of my friends gave me tickets to a Hawks Monday night preseason game, and I asked a few friends, but they were not able to attend. However, one of them called back with a proposition, “Hey, if the ticket is still available, we can go to the basketball game first, then walk over to the football game,” because they have access to season tickets. This plan came together swiftly on Sunday night, and both games were on Monday. I blocked off a portion of my schedule so I wouldn’t receive any last-minute meeting invites, since it was an early preseason game. On Monday, I finished the day and rolled out. Traffic was crazy, of course, but we made it at a decent time. We arrived at State Farm Arena first to watch the Atlanta Hawks play, which was a good time. Then, we walked across the way to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to attend the Atlanta Falcons game. The stadium roof was open, and you could hear the crowd and feel the energy. After going through security, we went to the bar for drinks and headed to our seats. The lights were bright, the energy was high, and the game was exciting. I don’t have a favorite team, but I know about football because I used to cheer for many years. The score was close, but the Falcons won, and fans were partying after the game. What a great way to start the week!

The weather is getting cooler, and this is my favorite time of the year! I purchased a new duvet cover, and it’s soft, white, and fluffy like a cloud. I have been sleeping like a baby, and the material is very soft. I like to open my windows so my place stays cool, then get under the covers and sleep like I am on vacation. Haha, this is also the season to take extra care of your skin and use extra moisturizer, because the cold can leave your skin dry and ashy. Haha, this is also the time of year people call “cuffing season.” Cuffing season is when you find someone to be with during the colder months—and apparently, there is a timeline for “cuffing!” I have included the timeline just in case you would like to partake. If you are going to be cuffing this season, make sure you choose wisely, and if you don’t have eligible bachelors or bachelorettes available, sit this season out.

I went to a Giveon concert recently and I had the time of my life! I made friends with the ladies next to me who flew in from Florida, and there were a lot of couples because that was the perfect date night. All was going well until the concert started and everyone stood up. Everyone was taller than me, so I was not able to get good video at first, but my new friends made space for me, and I captured great footage. I usually wear heels, but I decided to wear my Converse, which was not to my advantage. I am forever a fan, and his music is still on repeat. I screamed, danced, and sang my heart out. I love gloves, and he had on a pair of nice leather gloves, haha — perfect for this weather.

We thought we were going to Jamaica for a week of fun in the sun, with our flights booked and seats upgraded, but Hurricane Melissa had her agenda! We were both looking forward to this time away, but cancelled the trip. I had nothing but swimsuits and swimsuit covers packed, and cute dresses for dinner. I was looking forward to being away for the week, so I was a little bummed. Last year, I went to Jamaica after a Hurricane, and the resort was running on a generator, so it was hot outside and inside the rooms. The people who worked at the resort didn’t have power at home, but they were there every day working, so I made sure to tip the young lady well. I am researching how to make donations to the island in the wake of Hurricane Melissa. It’s heartbreaking to see the aftermath. I still decided to take the week off, and one of the highlights was the Viktor & Rolf exhibit at the High Museum. I enjoyed the details of the creative pieces. I enjoy fashion, so this was a sprinkle of joy.

There’s so much happening in my country and around the world—massive layoffs, a government shutdown, employees forced to work without pay, and cuts to food assistance benefits. I donated to a business owner who is in contact with people in need, and I will make another donation soon. Not just in this season, but if you can help others, please do so. If you are not able to assist financially, volunteering is also a great way to help.
This year has been a bag of mixed nuts with raisins, and I hate raisins, hahaha. I feel like I’ve taken a Master Class in relationships, which has not been easy, but I am learning necessary lessons at my big age. 😊
