Last Day of the Year

Hey, Y’all, hey!!!!

Oh, what a year 2021 has been!!

The last couple of years with Covid-19 and all the variants have been crazy!! Before the shutdown in 2020, I had a trip to New York for my birthday, Dallas for business/personal, and Los Angeles to see family. I had a wonderful time at each location, which got me through the first part of the pandemic because I visited people that I loved before the shutdown! Being laid off in April 2020 from a job that I didn’t enjoy was a blessing!! I would not have been able to work that toxic ass job and maneuver the “new normal!” My friend and her family moved to Atlanta, so I was with them, often helping them get settled and eating dinner. I was also a personal shopper during this time because I was at Costco daily looking for Clorox wipes – LOL.

Fast-forward to 2021, I loved my part-time contract gig, partied to D-NICE on IG daily, and at home wearing red lipstick (my signature) with heels like I am going out into the world – LOL I wanted to do things that felt good to me. I took a day trip to Detroit to visit a friend, stayed a week in Mississippi, and weekend in DC for a networking dinner. Oh, and a night in Chattanooga, TN for a concert, a night in Savannah, a few hours in South Carolina for a date, and decided that I would live in California and Atlanta until I decided otherwise. However, on the flip side, my damn anxiety was through the roof due to everything surrounding Coronavirus; I began walking six miles a day, four days a week, to help with my anxiety.

A few lessons that I learned in 2021

  1. Love on the people that mean a lot to you!
  2. Mental health is essential, and it’s not only for when things are not going well. Find you a great therapist!
  3. A good group of friends can get you through anything!
  4. Remove shit from your life that does not serve you, and that means family too!
  5. Put in the work to live the life of your dreams!
  6. Good ole fashion intimacy never goes out of style; there is nothing like a good kiss.
  7. A good hug is healing!
  8. Your words have power, so always speak GREAT things over your life, family & friends.
  9. Set your damn boundaries!
  10. Bad days don’t last forever!
  11. Music is good for the soul!

I am excited about 2022 for me and YOU!! I don’t have any New Year Resolutions, but I have written my goals and created a plan of action! I hope you are working towards a few goals and being a better version of yourself.
