I went home recently to see Jay-Z on Saturday and Tamar Braxton on Sunday, and I have been waiting for this trip. I flew in, and my personal driver picked me up- my Daddy! Haha. After he picked me up, our next stop was Costco because I think Costco in California is better than the Costco in Georgia. I dropped him off and had my normal self-care appointments. Nails, hair, facial, but the spa didn’t have any openings. The weather was beautiful as usual, and it felt so good to be home. On Friday, I met up with one of my good friends for happy hour, and it was a good time. LA has some of the best Mexican food, so I always eat Mexican when I am home. After our outing, I went and chatted with my Daddy and fell asleep.

I fell asleep, but after a couple of hours I woke up coughing. I couldn’t breathe, my eyes were itchy, and when I looked in the mirror, they were so swollen I looked like Hitch! At that moment, I realized I was having an allergic reaction and an asthma attack. WTF! I did not bring my inhaler, so I took deep breaths and tried to calm down. I don’t want to sleep here, so I am looking up hotels, but the concert isn’t far, so the hotels are packed.

I called “Georgia,” and his phone went to voicemail. I am sitting on the sofa with puffy eyes, thinking about my next move, when he calls back. “Hey,” I tell him, my eyes swollen and my breathing shallow, and ask if it’s okay if I stay over. He said, “I am on the way; send the address!” He arrived, grabbed my suitcase, and I got in the car with shades on, and I don’t care if it is 11 p.m., hahaha. I didn’t want him to see my eyes in their swollen state, but I could feel him looking at me. Sir, watch the damn road! He took me to CVS to get some Benadryl, just like the movie Hitch with Will Smith! Then we headed to In-N-Out because he was hungry. Once inside, his dog had a fit because he wanted to play while his owner got the room ready for me. I took off my shades, and he said, “DAMN!” I started laughing and said, “Good night.” I took a shower, took a Benadryl, and got in bed. I am not big on medicine, but that night I needed some assistance. I slept so damn well, but it was like I was drugged because I couldn’t get up. I would wake up and fall right back to sleep. He kept coming in the room staring at me to make sure I was okay because I never sleep late. Finally, I was up, and my eyes were still swollen, but not as bad. I played with his dog, and he took me back home. I was so grateful that he came to get me and made sure I was okay.
Once I arrived home, I chilled for a bit and got dressed for the concert. My Daddy dropped me off, and I headed inside. A friend bought me a drink; I grabbed a pizza and headed to my seat, but as I sat down, I spilled my drink on the man beside me. I said, “Sir, please don’t fight me because I don’t want to whoop your ass tonight,” and I said it with a straight face. 😐 Then he let me wipe him down because the drink spilled on the back of his shirt. Jay-Z was great, and he brought out Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre. I was on my feet most of the night, and I was so hyped after the concert hahaha. I fell twice! I was standing up and my chair folded up, so when I attempted to sit down I fell. Luckily, I was able to stop the fall with the arm rest. 😂 I walked home and relaxed. I invited “Georgia” to dinner on Sunday as a “Thank you!” for taking care of me while I looked like a bubble-eyed fish.

On Sunday, I relaxed and walked to the store to do some shopping. I sat on the sofa with the windows open so I could feel the ocean breeze. My cousin arrived, and we headed to dinner before the concert. We laughed for a while because the restaurant is in Hollywood and the van I drive is old, but I swooped that old-ass van in valet so fast like I was driving a sports car. The valet men were scared haha but they nice and helped us out of the van. Haha, dinner was a great vibe and a good time: great company and delicious food. I had to go back to TAO! That restaurant is a favorite and the concert venue is around the corner. We left dinner and headed to the concert. Tamar has such a beautiful voice, and it was a great show. I am looking forward to seeing her again.

I love home, so I never want to leave, but I had to get back to my fur baby. I love my family and friends, and I appreciate them always making time for me. Grateful!
Until next time!
